Well, my internet connection speed is this(I am from India so this speed is common here :( )
Below is the screenshot of my home internet connection speed

and I am wondering whether if I move to another VPS like Powerhosting(Using Berman Hosting) will the surfing speed improve? I dont want to surf the browser on VPS ofcourse. All I need to do is start campaigns which is currently pain in the ass due to the lag

The lag is not that much but it slows down my way to deal with the softwares..Any solution? or do I have to get a new connection :(

As a VPS provider I can guarantee that this is the worst ever results I have ever seen :)
Try first of all to check against another server in speedtest just in case there is some problem with the tested server.
Try to download a big file as Windows 8 and post your average download speed

Oh wait..the above speed test was for my home connection not the VPS providers..The speed on VPS is great..no issues with that at all..I am talking about the lag which I get due to my home connection speed

Then you have to change your VPS provider or same one to give you a VPS which is located more nearby at your location
Otherwise try to contact several VPS providers and ask them to give you an IP to ping in order to determine if you will have lag from your home.

its gonna be tough to find much and have it work well with an internet connection like that unfortunately.

is there no way to get upgraded internet at your house?

55ms is not that bad, but when you are running an RDP session that is constantly streaming with your low bandwidth from your home, you may have issues.

I'm located in Europe, working on a VPS in Chicago and it's quite comfortable. So it can be done ;).
