Hey guys.

So I’m facing a bit of a problem that I’m not sure how fix.

The other day I ordered a t-mobile sim card from amazon which arrived today, aswell as a US proxy from proxy-n-vpn. I installed the sim card and put the proxy as my manual proxy under wifi settings. I then tried installing a couple of apps to see my sim card information and it still shows my own country instead of united states. Sim card country is US, but “cell tower” shows Denmark. I have no idea how to fix this and would appreciate any help. Thank you

It automatically connects you to the nearest cell tower (I guess you're in Denmark, right?). As far as I know this can't be changed, maybe there's some way to spoof it but I'm not 100% sure.

Hmm.. it makes sense. I just don't see how people hide their location completely then. Thanks for the reply

You install proxies/servers in other locations (or buy them of course).

I already bought a US based proxy server. Am I missing something? Thanks

A proxy will just use a different IP for HTTP traffic. Your SIM card holds your real IP address, so those tools are detecting your SIM cards address.

I see. So is there anything I can do? I read multiple places that having a US simcard would be a good idea when creating a social media account. However if I can't hide this, wouldn't it be better just having no sim card in the phone at all?
