Facebook’s algorithm

Has anyone else noticed that Facebook’s algorithm seems to favor video content heavily over text and image posts lately?
Yes, Facebook is definitely favoring videos especially Reels over text and images right now. They’ve even reclassified all videos as Reels to push short-form content harder. If you want reach, you have to focus on video. Images and text still get engagement, but the algorithm prioritizes video in feeds. Simple as that.

Yes, I’ve noticed the same trend. Video content definitely seems to get more reach and engagement compared to static posts.

Facebook is prioritizing short videos to keep users engaged longer, because videos often attract more views than photos on the same topic. In recent years, Reels have been pushed and dominated clearly, even personal experiences show that users are more interested in Reels than videos in the News Feed or the Video section.

Hmm Facebook’s algorithm is clearly prioritizing videos, particularly short clips, more than photos or text posts. They’re pushing Reels hard and even rolling out AI features to help create video content. To get the best results, focus on videos that spark interaction likes, comments, and shares still count a lot.

Facebook’s feed is now built to boost video first. If you’re still relying on static posts, you’re likely buried. Short-form, engaging videos (especially Reels) are getting the most organic traction. Adapt or get left behind.

I think that's true because when we run a big budget, videos will easily get better results than images.

The video-first algorithm is correct, but not all videos survive. You have to constantly rotate creative, insert CTA cleverly, and ideally keep it short <30s. Anyone who still sticks text/image will just burn money.

Absolutely. If you want visibility, short-form video is currently king. The change in priority is undeniable.

Yes, that shift’s been pretty clear lately.
Meta’s pushing hard on video — especially short-form — because it keeps users on the platform longer and gives the algorithm more engagement signals to optimize from.

Facebook is making an effort to keep users young and keep them engaged longer by pushing Reels – short-form video content that is exploding.

From late 2024 to 2025, the Facebook (and Instagram) algorithm will really strongly favor video content, especially Reels and short videos.
