tbh just running the basic browser pixel like this is kinda useless now with ios14 and adblockers. seen so many people wonder why their attribution is trash because they skipped server-side. @PHOENIX AGENCY you really need to add conversions api (capi) to this list or you are leaving money on the table. i learned that the hard way last year on a ecom client.

Pixel is still useful, but only if the events are clean. I see a lot of people fire PageView + Purchase and then wonder why Meta optimizes weird... missing AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, proper value/currency, dedup with CAPI etc. Like @ricketycricket said, browser only is not enough now. Also check Event Match Quality after a few days, not just “pixel active”, because active doesn’t mean the data is good.

That's pretty straight forward. Is Meta Pixel enough in big 2026 or that and CAPI worth the extra setup? Or I guess it might be worth the extra effort for that bit more tracking accuracy.

this is not an errors. Meta is asking you to confirm ownership of the custom event. Complete the review process in Event Manager then check your pixel implementations to improve the data quality score

Pixel is basically the browser side tracker, CAPI is server side sending the same events back to Meta. Not just a token... token is only part of setting it up. Best setup is both together with event_id dedup, otherwise you can double count or lose half the data and then blame the ads. For small lead gen sites browser pixel can still work ok, but for ecom in 2026 I wouldn’t run serious spend without CAPI + clean purchase value/currency.

Can you explain what the Pixel is used for and what the difference is between Pixel and CAPI?

Pixel and CAPI serve different purposes. The Pixel relies on the user's browser, so some events can be lost due to ad blockers or browser privacy features. CAPI sends events directly from your server, making tracking more reliable and allowing CRM events to be sent back to Meta. Running both together with proper event_id deduplication is generally the best approach.
