Have you hear about facebook mail??? I have two facebook account, and one of these account give me a FACEBOOK EMAIL (but the other account is not, don't know why..) So I have a new facebook email now. So, I can send and receive email from my inbox message at my facebook account..
GREAT!!!
I think issue that Facebook will eat Gmail is true..
:44:

I don't know how it start, I just login to my facebook account, and then there's java pop up that I can use facebook email, then facebook asked me to choose what email address that I prefer to use (some combination of my name). Then it's done!!
Then I can receive and send email to whatever another email (not facebook account as usually)

check my attachment..:

There are people that have gmail but dont have facebook ? What will happen with them ?

i doubt facebook mail system is not as easy and profound as gmail

Never...
Facebook mail is too new to eat up Google's "trusted, most used" gmail ;)

Gmail is the big thing!!!

Bk...

And if more userrs will use facebook mail what will the problem be?
Anyway this is good news because we will find some way to make money out of this!

i think the vast majority of people who owns a gmail address or an address with any other provider won't change their email to a facebook address, why?
because it's a lot of hassle to notify all of your contacts (i'm talking about not just friends but anybody who have your email address, even on offline channels, lot of formal places), not talking about the lots of websites where you're already registered with your email, most likely you won't start logging into 100+ sites, forums just to change your email address

however it's also true that gmail can be forwarded (yahoo has a paid forwarding service), but a mortal internet user is not really aware of this

so in short: i just can't see this happening, gmail is way too big even for FB and what is most important, gmail was first
it's nothing like how FB beat Myspace, changing an established email address is a totally different kind of animal

gmail its still the best email service ever :biggthump

U can setup your private domain email to use google mail...facebook email will be just a means of chatting with people that dont have a FB...

If u dont have FB email yet, u can apply for it on one of their pages...

This is true, but in the future the kids/younger people will get themself more an Facebook E-Mail, then an Gmail one.

Sooner or later they will find work, start earning money & become potential customers for advertisers ;)

i fucking love gmail and would never move to other email service

im sure many people are like that too

Gmail is a very structured. Facebook has a long way to go to build and structure something a complex as Gmail. I have been using Gmail and it gets better and better.

Facebook might not offer the best email service but more than 500 million people use, most of them being computer illiterates. Of course it has the potential to grow, but kill Gmail ? I don't think so. It's a nice to look like a retard in a job interview though :)

Never ever. Unless they merge somehow. I've noticed that FB bullies its way into businesses, but in my opinion FB's spark is almost extinguished. Things will change. Hail Google!

Google will :chicken_weverything! Can't wait to see their newest product.

Google Cola :))

Don't worry i will buy facebook soon and provide a service in bhw to get facebook bulk emails :)
