I don’t think Facebook Ads will fully replace Google Ads, because both platforms work in completely different parts of the buying journey. Google Ads captures **existing demand** (people already searching), while Facebook creates **new demand** by showing ads to people who weren’t actively looking yet so they usually grow together rather than one killing the other.
Right now Google still holds a slightly larger share of the global digital ad market (around **28% vs ~23% for Facebook/Meta**), mainly because search intent converts strongly and delivers higher average ROI for many businesses.
Facebook Ads keeps growing though because of massive reach and cheaper clicks, making it strong for awareness, ecommerce scaling, and retargeting, while Google Ads often wins for high-intent leads and direct conversions.
If I had to summarize: Google Ads = demand capture and stable long-term performance, Facebook Ads = discovery, scaling, and audience building. Most experienced advertisers actually use both together instead of choosing one, since combining search intent with social targeting usually produces the best results.
