Facebook Virus

Had some interesting convo's with friends this morning, it seems that facebook is being used to distribute a virus that deletes all documents + pictures under windows vista.

You will recieve messages/wall posts from friends that are about watching a video. If you goto that site you will download the virus and lose your files.

One of my friends that I advised this morning managed to recover their lost files, im not sure if im allowed to post the link of the program they used, however type into google "vista file recovery" and it should be top link.

Hope this helps others.

UPDATE: it seems that facebook is removing the top domain name from the link that is being sent out meaning that the message link won't be clickable.

Dam, I thought it was going to be like that javascript worm that was found in myspace a while ago that made your account send messages to all your friends and all sorts of stuff.

It's not really a fb virus if its loaded from another page. Its probably one of those, download this codec to watch this vid and its really the malware the people are dl'ing.

It is a facebook virus, as its viral on facebook and does cause your account to spam messages/wall posts to your friends.

I missed that myspace worm, then again i don't really use myspace. lol
