I have a few questions regarding that issue:
1. Is it triggered on each account after some time?
2. If no, what to do in order to avoid it? - I only subscribed to 7 groups, no other actions done.
3. Can it be bypassed? What is estimated cost of doing so?

Far as I know, this is triggered by either new account creations (not sure what factors affect that exactly since I've never gotten one after creating multiple accounts), suspicious account activity (botting with poor setup, using vpns, information change after prolonged inactivity, etc.), being reported/ other user complaints if you're impersonating and such, or you got flagged by their detection for one reason or another. You can usually avoid getting hit by it by avoiding what I just mentioned where possible, but strictly speaking you can't bypass it. You could hope it passes and you never have to do it, use the previous IP and device you normally use your account on, or you try alternative methods if possible.

I think you are referring to the banned profile issue, face verification just need to register your information then verify directly with face is successful

One more thing might be reason - is it possible that trying to follow or joining a group could trigger such verification?

1. Not sure. Whether or not your Facebook account will be reactivated depends on many factors
2. The fact that you only subscribed to 7 groups is not a direct cause of your account being restricted.
3. I do not recommend that you try to bypass the advertising restriction

Activating selfies will depend on each account, not necessarily every account must have it. If it appears, there is no way to avoid it. You have to scan the face of the Army directly on each account.
 
I think not, it's a setting created by Facebook, if Facebook requires it, then you have to do it. Just follow the instructions correctly and your account will work normally.

I had the same issue with a brand new created facebook account. I did not do anything yet, it was with a new IP adress.

* Avoid copy–paste: post native content, real interactions, limit links/CTAs and focus on a few key groups.
* There is no safe “bypass” — use boost/ads if you need to reach quickly, avoid risky tricks.

In my opinion, selfie verification targets Facebook profiles that are not trusted enough.
I tried using profiles of actual users who logged in again after 4 years of inactivity to create a Fanpage, access Ad Manager, spam groups, and did not encounter any bans at all.
