copy/paste:

On March 10th Facebook will stop supporting its FBML app, and on this day it will no longer be possible to create new FBML-based fan gates.
When Facebook officially makes the switch on March 10th from FBML to iFrames there?ll be a lot of great benefits for fan page owners, including greater flexibility in terms of design and functionality. But it does create a pretty major challenge for the hundreds of thousands of fan page owners who?ve relied on Facebook?s FBML app to display a ?fan gate? (otherwise known as a ?reveal tab?) on their Fan page.

Another nail in the coffin of online business enterprise.

The trouble with social marketing is that you need to advertise your Facebook page to earn your crust, but once Facebook sees too much of the same thing going on and twig people are making too much cash at it, they close that option down fairly quickly.

Just all too exposed for any stealthy marketing techniques.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't all the accounts that already have the FBML pages be "grandfathered in" and that functionality will still be there? I thought that after the 10th you just wouldn't be able to add FBML to accounts that didn't have it already. Can I get some feedback from someone more "in the know" on this one? Thanks.

Yeah this is an important distinction to know...
