What the hell is this?

I tried doing it, and this window popup kinda Microsoft popup appears, and I have to confirm, and I feel a bit uneasy.

The email looks legit, the sending email looks legit, the site that opens if i click the "Turn on Advanced Protection" looks legit.

So, what the hell is this?

Just do it from inside your facebook account, don't do it through the email popup. (just in case)

How DARE you tell me what to do?!?!

Okay good point actually :D

tbh this is the first time I'm hearing of Facebook advanced protection.

I know Google has it for Android and durex could be classed as advanced protection but this is slightly sus.

Seems like the protection of your accounts is weak and they ask for more security. Usually 2Fa + strong password should secure it. There are a lot of accounts with low protection and very vulnerable for scrappers to steal it.

Well I tried setting it up, and they're asking me to insert my security key in the usb port. What the hell is that?

I tried doing it with my phone, and the page threw an error.

So I set up google authenticator using my phone and I'm gonna leave it at that. If they're not happy, let them ask again.

You can ignore it, it won't affect anything.

That sounds really strange. I think you need to check the link to see if it's actually genuine.
