Catchy graphics are very effective. They need to be top notch, original, and create a reaction. I don't think anyone has settled on a name for them? Tiles, Panels, Posters???
These get passed around and drive real traffic to your facebook page. If you do it right, you host a larger version on your main site and people click through to the site to download it. At that point you can ask them to register (capture their email address for future contact) or try to make a sale.
It seams like females are better at passing things on than males. Guys look once and laugh, girls want to share it with their friends???
You can watermark with your logo, you can fill up the META data on the photo and if your really good you can get a lot of them into Google images and that can really be effective.
