No. The App ID is used for an API call to check the status if the share pop up was submitted or not.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I had a couple additional questions... not sure if you have any idea on this:
1) I want to create a website and incorporate a social share locker (person shares content on Facebook and then after sharing they are able to get the content).
From what I understand Facebook does not like this and I believe it is against their TOS. They don't want people be incentivized to share so if I create a Facebook App ID through my account is there a chance I could lose my account?
2) Can one App ID be used on multiple domains?

1. Hi, there is no chance that your account will be banned because they can't know how you are using the app or the api unless they visit your website which is extremely rare. I have a website that uses Facebook API and and a facebook app for creating live polls that are against Facebook TOS. I have good traffic but never had any issues.
2. You can use same app for multiple domains, you will need to add those domains in your app settings in your facebook developer account.

Will the sharing not work if the domain is not listed in my Facebook Developer Account?

Yes, it won't work. You can just create a fake facebook account, and create an app using that if you are worried about the ban.
