Facebook sending verification code to a hidden contact info

Your account may have been compromised. Check for unusual logins in Settings > Security & Login , change your password immediately, and update your official email/phone number. If necessary, visit the Facebook Help Center to report the issue.

It's quite annoying that this number is difficult to remove, it's been a Facebook error since October. Even if the seller deletes it, Facebook still saves this information, you can only change to another account. We also have this difficulty when selling but there is no tool to handle it. If anyone has a way, please share, thank you very much
 
apply add your contact and then report and reomove the old. can you try first ?
 
You can add your new email to receive the code, maybe your old email has been blocked, also you can adjust the confirmation method to avoid account risks.

You need to note to add another phone number to secure your account, or add a new email to delete that phone number.
 
Please check in settings, and remove this phone number from your account, otherwise you will lose your account at any time.

yeah that’s super annoying man. sounds like your account might’ve been messed with. first thing i'd do is change the password fast, then go into settings and check login activity—remove anything sus. if that number's not showing in your contact info but still gets codes, report it to fb. i had something kinda like this once, it took a bit but got fixed. just act quick so it doesn’t get worse.
 
This account can be lost at any time or locked if you do not create another account and transfer the assets to the new account or you can get the code from the phone number when contacting the person who sold you the account.
 
If your main account try adding this phone number to another profile then the verification will change to a new form, like email, document verification

It sounds like your account might have been compromised. You should immediately secure it by changing your password, enabling two-factor authentication with your email, and contacting Facebook Support to report the unknown number linked to your account.

that's a strong possibility. Meta is restoring original data linked to old accounts, so hidden or unknown numbers can appear — especially if the account was created years ago with a different phone number.
 
You can try add your email as a back up authenticator one then remove the old set up to make sure no one can get access or took back your account. If you buy it from seller, just tell them about that in case that they can easily fix and change it for you.
 
You should be careful because this is a sign that your account is being controlled at the same time by another person without your knowledge.

I think you should replace it with a new, cleaner account. The current account is very risky and easily hacked.
 
If the verification only leads to a strange phone number without your email, then there is no other way, you should change to another account because the current account seems to be no longer secure.
