I recently noticed that Facebook is updating its Facebook Reel feature, and that Facebook is paying content creators. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I think it's pretty great that Reels is trending towards product review videos rather than standard advertisements.

You need at least 10,000 followers to enable monetization based on views on facebook

That alone won’t get you in the door. Facebook Content Monetization does not have a clear threshold for approval. I have one account that didn’t get monetized until it reached 70,000 followers, and I have another account with 136,000 followers that still has not been approved for content monetization.
What matters most for Content Monetization specifically is:
- invite-only access
- policy compliance
- eligible country/language
- clean monetization status in Professional Dashboard / Meta Business Suite
- original, policy-safe content performance

I seen some creators getting bonuses from Reels, but it is mostly limited and depends on account quality and region. Facebook seems to be pushing short form content, but monetization is not guaranteed.

FB is pushing Reels hard and paying creators, but it’s not as simple as just posting and getting paid. most people won;t get paid right away, you need original content, good engagement, and meet requirements first, are you planning to grow a page for monetization or just testing it?
