I have a facebook profile that I have a business portfolio to manage my ads. I was the only one in that business portfolio. Now I cannot access the ads that are currently running and I cannot stop them. Should I just get a new credit card and disable the current credit card that was attached to that business portfolio or is there a way to fix this?

I’ve run into this before — if you’ve lost access to the Business Manager, it’s best to contact Facebook Support via live chat (available if your ad account has spent enough). Only they can restore access or help you stop the active ads.

Sounds like the BM ownership or access got revoked somehow and since you're the only admin, there's no one to stop the active campaigns.
Disabling the credit card might stop billing, but it won’t officially stop the ads or prevent account issues.

If possible, you should try regaining access via Meta Business Support or any backup admin
Next time, always set a second trusted admin on BM 'cause Meta’s system isn’t very forgiving when access is lost

You should disable the credit cards linked to the card to avoid losing money needlessly.

Treat that profile as dead. Set a $1 limit or freeze the old card so charges fail, then build a fresh BM via a trusted agency/friend, readd your pixel/domains and move on. Appeal in parallel, but don’t wait.

If you are unable to access to manage or stop running ads, it could cause financial loss to you if the ads continue to spend money from your credit card.
You should contact support to send a request directly to Meta. If there is no response, contact your bank to temporarily block the card.

Maybe someone in the business has taken over your rights and is trying to take over your business so you have lost access.

Disabling a credit card may prevent future charges, but it won't immediately stop current charges and may cause account issues. Try to recover ownership before taking action with the card.

Have you tried appealing that Facebook profile, there will still be a success rate of unlocking

Report to Facebook to try to regain access.
Block your bank card to prevent ads from spending money again.
Don't rush to create a new account, avoid repeating the same mistake.

Your profile may be restricted, please change to a new profile and share the account through it, if not successful, lock the card and start a new business account.

Hi, If you cannot access the ads or stop them, simply changing the credit card might not solve the problem entirely. I recommend first trying to regain access to your business portfolio by contacting Facebook Support for help with your account permissions. They might assist you in restoring control without needing to replace payment methods.
If you still can't get access after that, then adding a new credit card and disabling the old one could be a workaround, but be cautious as the ads might still run and charge the old payment method until completely stopped.

Bro, your account has been disabled, please log out of the card to avoid fees.

You can't stop ads if you lose access; you'll need to contact Facebook support to regain access or ask them to pause, while changing or blocking your bank card is a last resort.

Unfortunately, if the profile was the only admin, there’s no direct way to control the business assets anymore. You can try contacting Meta support through another account or submit an ownership appeal if possible.
