Facebook post likes on newsfeed

I visited few websites and liked their posts. However noticed that the news that i like do not being published on my facebook newsfeed anymore. Only if you share the post then the particular news being shown on the newsfeed. facebook recently changed anything on this?

When you was liked their post, you must get a option for share , if you shared their post then it will show on your profile but if you only liked their post then it will show on your " RECENT Activity "
 
In addition to what was already mentioned, you may have adjusted your settings to prevent apps from posting publicly or at all to your news feed. If this happened, you should check your privacy settings to see what is allowed to post on your behalf. As mentioned, you should get the option to share, but it won't be automatic.

noted. that means whatever i like without share won't be noticed by anyone unless they happen to browsing "Recent Activity".

so, i guess a like without share becomes not so effective marketing wise or to create viral. am i rite?
 
that's it! :) without share most people don't notice that you have clicked "like" in a post or that the content it's relevant and will not show in their newsfeed.

seems like fb changed again. few months back, i just need to like an article or post on a blog and it appears on my newsfeed.

Yes. Unless others like it too and then it will stay for longer at the top.
 
Depend on your activity Facebook shows news and topics on your newsfeed. If you want to get update from any page, you have to be active on that page.
