Facebook post boost reach question

I have a facebook page and my friend wanted to boost a poston that page to people who like your page and their friends. He got a reach of 18000 for 30 euros.

I have created a business manager ad account and I wanted to boost the same post with exactly the same settings but I only got a reach of 5400-13000 for 30 euros.

We neither boosted the post and we had the exact same settings - his account is older and has already boosted posts before. Does facebook make boosting posts more expensive for new accounts?

nice question, here's the thing, try again with another post and you do the boosting first.. you will get more reach.
since it's a limited audience, when you boost for the first time, you will get the most, and the second time you get crumbs unless you change your audience .

The thing is that we neither did the boosting. He was just looking to boost the post but didn't actually run the campaign.

Reach also depend on what types of post and audiences are, is your post simillar to your friend post?

Are your posts different from each other? Or did you post exactly the same thing and get different results? If those two are different, you could be dealing with quality-related issues.

Like I said - we had the exact same settings and the post was not boosted yet - different account, exact same settings, less reach for the new account.

Then you need to do split test buddy, I had 90k reach for 3$. But it only for one time. Some time it happens, but how you wont know it.
