Facebook pixel retargeting

Hi, my most traffic is coming from Instagram and I have my facebook pixel on my shop. Can I use the data from facebook pixel and use it for ads and target the people who visit my website, even though I didn't gather the traffic from facebook itself or by any ads?

If I make them as my audience, can the pixel find them on facebook when running ads only on facebook, even though they came from instagram?

Yes you can. If you have doubt just go to adpresso site or something. Even though you never liked their page or anything, you will see ads about them.

Extra tip: You could setup the pixel to know people who abondoned the cart Then retarget to those people with an ad saying that they didn't buy the product and give them a discount coupon or something which can be only redeemed for a short time

I just tried to make a custom audience based on my website visitors, and it says: "Audience definition is unavailable." Does that mean I need to feed my pixel more?

Yep you can, you can target any traffic that is logged by the pixel (even search traffic, organic etc)

"Audience definition is unavailable" -> this could be a bug. If the dot is green, it should be OK to run. Try it and see if you can run ads.
