Facebook phone verification .. half works?

So my stealth fb had activity that made it confirm my phone number and while I can still receive password recovery SMS messages I can't receive the security check sms code so I am locked out of my business profile... Just using a free text number but why the heck would one code come through but the security check won't. .. anyone heard of this phenomenon?
