Hi, I am working as a social media officer in my friend's business. He asked me to create content plan, create content for facebook and instagram, write the caption, and reply to DM or comment if any. This is my second month and I have a problem that confuses me.

In this month I created at least 20 post for facebook and instagram. Every process in creating content is going well but not with the reach. When I checked the insight overview it showed that my reach is going down drastically.

In August the reach hit 283K while this month it just hit 1,1K. For me this does not make sense, at least not that drastic. So to make sure the reach in August is real, I calculated every post's reach manually and the result showed it just 2,3K.

Does anyone know why is this happening? or what's wrong here?

You have to learn how their algorithm favors content. The days of Facebook pushing your content to all your Likers are done. For example, if you're making posts with URLs, that's a huge no-go. Try posting a few pictures with short captions that engage the audience.

Facebook's algorithm will show your post to a subset of your potential audience such as 100-500 people and if they see that engagement is too low (they scroll too fast, don't like, don't commend, don't interact in any way) then they won't push this content out further.

You basically have to convince the algorithm that your posts are worthy of being PUSHED to newsfeeds. They don't like URLs because it opens risk-factor of spam/scams/.. and it takes the user OUT of the FB app. They want people to stay inside, engage and watch ads.

To sum up, this happens because Facebook thinks my content is not worthy to be seen by my audience, and they decides to limit my reach.

Well, it's frustating since the reach drastically drop. Like 99% of my reach was gone.

However, thank you for giving me a hints for this. Much upreciated
