Hello BHW. I have decided to create this thread and write down few tips for fan pages. I hope that someone will find them useful.
Some of you maybe know that I have started Facebook journey on BHW few days ago. I have started new page and I am getting 1000-2000 likes per day on completely new page. It is very, very active with mostly US fans.
I want to give few advices to BHW members. This is discussion so feel free to post your opinion, you don't have to agree with me of course.
1. Fake Facebook likes (bought/exchange sites)
Big NO. They are useless. 100 real likes > 100.000 fake likes.
You don't need them. That is like buying 10 teddy bears and saying "Look, I have 10 best friends". They are destroying your page. Post comment on other pages, ask for shares, join groups related to your niche, create facebook profile and add those who are interested in your niche/product, but DON'T BUY FAKE LIKES. I may be hated by those "Facebook experts" selling fake shit to others, but I don't care. Fake likes are "good" for creating fake visual reputation. Maybe for persons who never used Facebook, when I see 5 million fans and 5k talking about, guess what I do?
2. Hiding your page from certain countries
Well, this is theme for discussion... I have asked in one thread few days ago and few opinions were different than mine. I will explain mine now.
Lets say that your page has 100.000 fans.
60.000 USA - Great for monetizing
25.000 India - 99% impossible to monetize and earn well
11.000 UK - Great for monetizing
4.000 Germany - Great for monetizing
So, as you know, your posts reach around 15% of your fan base. So from those 100k fans, 15k fans will see it on homepage. So, you want to monetize your page with whatever method... 25% of those 15k fans are useless for you since they are from certain country.
So why would we waste reach and have fake vision of how great page we have, when we can create big US/UK/Australia/Germany/France... community. They will get you money.
Note: I don't have anything against India or any other country. My country is completely useless for monetizing as well.
I have banned 4 countries on start of my Facebook journey, and now I enjoy getting high quality US fans.
3. Be interactive.
Why would you expect fans to be interactive if you are not? Like their comments, respond to their messages, respond to wall posts, comment your picture when they start commenting a lot. Show them that you are not like bot. Everyone can schedule posts for 30 days. Be different. When fan falls in love with your fan page he will like, comment, share and follow you for few months at least. Do you know how many of his friends will notice that?
4. Don't monetize it like idiot
I see that bunch of pages are only posting links to their websites at the moment. And they are getting like 10 likes on each link. For 30 days - 100 links, 1 image. And guess what? Image had 4000 likes, and links 10. If you have decided to monetize your page with your website, you should still give fans CONTENT. That is what they want. Post few pictures, few links. Interact with them, keep page alive. They won't open random spammy links. Would you?
5. Enjoy in this and learn how powerful is this
You have to enjoy managing page. I can't even imagine how painful it is to manage page every day without enjoying it. If you understand how powerful Facebook pages are, you will love it. Reach of your pages is over few millions. You know what that means? Millions of people see your images/websites whatever... That is AWESOME.
6. Don't be afraid to try something new
Let's say that your average amount of likes on pictures is 1000. And you are uploading a lot of them daily. So why wouldn't you try something new? Maybe "Like for A, Comment for B", or "If I get .... likes". Whatever. It is childish and boring to you, but when you get 10 times more interaction on these posts, you will understand that you should post things like this from time to time. Not being likewhore, but once in few days is fine. You want to GROW.
7. Ask questions
Text posts/images with questions are receiving at least 100% increase in comments. Comments>Likes. In my opinion. When users start interaction with each other, you can be pleased. When my friend comments on some photo, I always look what it is. And it is great recommendation. If he is commenting on funny page, I will definitely check it out. Ask simple questions like "Do you agree with this?" or whatever like that.
8. Don't give up!
I was reading on thread on BHW few days ago. It was Facebook journey. Guy was using almost same method as me, commenting on other pages. He was receiving around 200-300 likes per day and everyone said that it is impossible to get so much, bla bla bla. They started, failed and quit. But they didn't stop there. Then they came here and accused him that he is liar. I am getting around 1000-2000 likes per day on completely new page. IT IS POSSIBLE. Just because you couldn't do it at first it doesn't that it isn't possible. You have my journey thread, I am posting screenshots of insights so that may motivate you a bit.
I can't get 1 million likes on post but that doesn't mean that it is impossible. I have seen a lot of people who managed to get their posts so viral.
9. Focus on growing page, don't think only about money
A lot of people start monetizing page when it has with few thousands fans. That is their choice, but I don't agree with that. I have heard someone who asked me "Why are you growing page if you haven't decided how will you monetize it?". There is huge number of ways to monetize page, specially funny pages. I am focused on growing my page, when I get to 100k likes I will have very powerful page and community, it won't be problem to make some website, youtube channel or whatever. Focus on GROWING. You can have idea in your head how will you earn from it, but for now, your goal is 100k likes or whatever amount you have in mind.
10. NEVER stop posting on page
There is huge number of fanpages with 100k-2 million fans that aren't posting for months. WTF? They are goldmines, but admins probably don't even care about earning.
Schedule your posts if you are going somewhere. But don't allow that "talking about" drops. Keep your page active. That is very important. Renewing dead page is very big and complicated job.
EDIT:
11. Allow top comments for your posts.
This is very important. Half of people who comment are commenting to get likes. They will die for top comment. They will post whatever just to get top comment. It is like competition for them. They think that their life is worth if they get top comment. Well, it is sad but true
It is very good thing, so I see no reason why you shouldn't have it.
If something else comes to my mind, I will edit it and add that tip as well. Feel free to post your opinion. You don't have to agree with me of course, but explain why you don't.
I hope that I have helped someone.
