Hello everyone,

I wonder if someone struggling a similar problem with Facebook like me.

I have a few Facebook pages where I share links to articles on my website (life stories, confessions etc.). At the beggining of August I had quite good reach and click to postview ratio, but then I just tried to upload some reels - after publishing the first on on only one page reach has dropped about 80-90% and never came back to normal.

Another strange thing is that sometimes some of the pages gets some kind of boost, probably from the algorithm. Usually my posts gets about 4-8% CTR, but if it gets this boost, it can be about 15-25% CTR - it's kinda crazy, especially fot the organic reach and this shows that the content is not the problem. Is it possible to get this boost for more of my post/page somehow? Maybe I should use FB Ads for this?

I also noticed that links I published on the beginning of August have better results if I repost them now than a totally new - but content is generally quite at the same level. Isn't it weird?

My reach since Sept 24 is down more than 90%. I've read all related threads on BHW for last week and looks like there is couple possible reasons of that
  • US Election - FB cut links reach to prevent any propaganda
  • FB rolling out update now and it may need some time to see if this a temporary affect or not
  • Just a annual suppress of reach before NY ( i'm new to FB so have no idea if this a legit assumption)

I've seen similar fluctuations in organic reach on Facebook pages, and the platform's algorithm can definitely be unpredictable, especially when mixing different content formats like reels and link posts. When you introduced reels, it’s possible the sudden change in content type triggered a reset in how Facebook's algorithm evaluates engagement on your page, leading to the drop in reach. Reels are prioritized for short, high engagement, so posting links afterward may not have had the same immediate effect.

For the CTR spikes you’re seeing, it’s not uncommon for Facebook to test certain posts with a larger audience as part of its ‘discovery’ process. If the content performs well with that test group (higher engagement, CTR), it might get a temporary boost. This is why you’re seeing significant differences in performance on similar content over time.

Here’s what I suggest:

  1. Consistency in Content: Facebook’s algorithm loves patterns. Try alternating between reels and link posts in a more consistent way rather than switching suddenly. Test posting formats to see if any specific schedule improves reach.
  2. Engagement Strategies: Focus on increasing post engagement through comments, shares, and reactions. Facebook prioritizes posts that create more interaction, so driving engagement before posting a link or reel could lead to better reach.
  3. FB Ads: Using ads to boost certain posts can help reignite organic reach, but it’s important to target your ads to the right audience segments. Even a small spend can bring better organic results if your boosted content performs well.
Also, reposting old links with better results could be due to Facebook’s timing algorithms or the content becoming more relevant now than when it was initially posted. Always keep testing, especially on Facebook, where even minor changes in strategy can lead to big shifts in performance.

facebook's distribution is not stable, I have this opinion, please see if it's okay, I see many people pin video links in comments on community articles, it will attract many people who are curious about the video content, therefore, be careful not to make viewers angry when the comment content does not match the video content

Fb will make money by narrowing the reach and interaction of fanpages that don't run ads. It's like a bait for you to put money into the platform for better reach.

this is my opinion, you can refer to it, have fun, if you are not a celebrity, content revolving around personal life will hardly have good reach, unless you run ads to increase reach, but it will only be possible for the first few posts, you should make content in a series of stories, create curiosity for viewers, it will be more effective

Reach can vary greatly between posts. This speaks to why every marketer should monitor long - term trends with their Facebook reach

It's not my life story, but stories from my followers - for me it works quite good, od facebook page posts I can get about 4-8% ctr, but sometimes it can be above 20% ctr.

Other problem I noticed in last days is dropping CTR in campaigns. After launch CTR is in normal, but after 2-3 days it's dropping 10 times or even more. Can I do something with that? It's not a ads fault, because after adding it to new campaign it have good CTR for next 2-3 days and situation goes over again.

It seems that Facebook is increasingly difficult to grasp and causes many difficulties. Create content around stories to create curiosity among viewers

It seems like Facebook is making it more difficult for people, you can find a reputable supplier who will support you.
