I see services where people offer fanpage likes but how come no service to promote a website? How to go about promoting a regular webpage and get users to like it on facebook.

I would suggest fave book page likes , because your members are always notifies when ever you make some changes and thus may also increase traffic to your site.

We offer likes to webpages as well as to fan pages. Regarding your question of how to get likes to your website, you can arrange competitions / special offers in exchange for the likes. You can also embed like button on every post on your site (if it's a blog), preferably on the top of the post.

If you create an app and "join" it with your website, you'll able to send notifications to your likers.

The difference is that if they click on the title of the "website page" they will be redirected to the website instead an inside page.
