Facebook page likes drop?

Hi!
Got this FB page that im promoting and actually got really surprised of how fast it grew.
But then, while trying to optimize it during FEB 1 it just dropped.
The things I did during the optimization:
1. Added related topics (Some groups that relates to my page)
2. Added a long description
3. Added official page (It's a fanpage for a video game)

Would love to hear an answer from any of the FB gurus here, the reason for the drop! So I can properly learn from my previous mistakes.
After noticing the big drop I removed the previous optimization hoping that it would raise again, but it haven't.

I'm confused by #3. So you created an official page and linked it to your existing one? And the likes were all natural (you didn't buy them)?

What actually dropped?

THE reach or the LIKES?

If it's the likes, then maybe facebook cracked down on certain accounts (if you bought like) or people decided to unlike the page.
IF it's the reach, that exactly how Facebook works, it updates page reaches once in two day - three days.

unless you own the official fanpage FB will NOT allow you to call your FB fanpage official, since this is essentally copyright infringment.
Simply don't mention anything about official in that case and just call it a fanpage.

Did you buy those facebook likes or run any bot? If yes, the likes will drop eventually.

You are promoting it by Facebook Ad ?
If, You will get rapid like & reach, When you stop using Ads you will loss your Reach + you cant grow your page without Facebook Ads.

I am Facing this problem. When I stopped using Ads, my Page is not getting any natural like, But I am getting good reaches in my Page Community.

So, Dont use facebook ads at the very early stage. If, your page will be marked as business page, So you cant grow naturally without their ads.

Did you by also place a country restriction to your page?
For example making the page accessible only from US users?

Okay, to clear out #3.
If you go into your page settings / the about tab, you will be able to link to an "official page"...?



Thought this would have increased the page suggestion/target the niche better.

Nope, it's the page likes and as you can see in the screenshot I went from 200, 600, 1k, 1.2k / day for 4 consistent days and then it just went back to less then 30 likes / day.

Yeah, I built up some initial like from social exchange sites, but i was constantly watching and got like 5 likes a day from that.

Haven't used any facebook ads.

Was analyzing this some more and saw that 80% of the page likes where from Phillipines.
My theory is that all the "Uncategorized Mobile traffic" which is about 70% of the page likes, came from friends of friends who liked the page? (When the " 'NameOfAPerson' likes 'NameOfMyPage' " showed up)

But still can't figure out why the page suggestion dropped to zero.

This is an interesting hypothesis but is there any proof?

Is "business page" you will called a Product/Brand name for Fan Page ? Or just you saying that don`t use ads for any FanPages or Posts even if you marked as product, business or brand during creating.
