Ok, is it true if i dont authenticate my fan pages before they hit 10k fans i wont be able to do status updates?

Not true. I have a fan page with 80,000 fans at the moment. I haven't received any notice to authenticate it. I am still able to post status updates.

forget the above. you dont need to buy shit.. create a free blog at blogger.com install your facebook badge and jobs a good un.. thats all i do and i pass the authentication process every time

Thats correct

I haven't yet been asked for verification and i'm only 35k members so i must be one of the lucky ones at the minute..

My page is just hitting 10k now, rather than have them remove my publishing rights ive just made a blog about it, linked a badge to it and put the address of the site in the website section on the fan page, if they see that will they still ask me to verify it or will they just verify it without sending a message?

Okay, update for everyone. Just about everyone receives (well they should) an email telling them to verify the fan page. Disregard my above post. My fan page which had 80,000 fans had publishing rights blocked today because I had missed the email Facebook sent.

I have now found the page and just went through it (to verify my page). Hopefully I will get back my publishing rights.
