Facebook - Mark Zuckerberg - Black hat SCAM!

Well the underlying lesson here is that you DON'T buy ads until you're very good at tracking conversions and measuring ROI. Then you don't need to wonder if someone is skimming or ripping.

This is probably why the large automakers all pulled ads from FB about a year ago. They said their conversions were very weak and their advertising money was better spent elsewhere.

That sucks. This explains so much though, no one I know actually clicks on ads. It seems kind of impossible to make so much money legitimately.

Thats so unprofessional of them, if that is what they really did. Is it a one off issue or have others also reported similar stuff? I would not like to think fb would engage in such tactics, people really aren't here to give away their money.

At the start of FB didn't they go through your email contacts and invite everyone without your permission?

I wonder what pictures they're using for the fake accounts. It'll be funny if the steal them from other profiles and legally can because of something in the ToS.

I don't know why they would create fake accounts without friends. They could easily make the accounts look real. Unless they'll try to blame the fake accounts on spammers.

I would say, that it is not the FB that is clicking on its own ads. Owners of fake accounts are not real people and ghosts will not click on ads either.

I am just guessing, now you have software that is collecting marketing intelligence about FB ads. In order to collect data they create fake accounts and than they monitor which ads appear on which social category. To make data complete, software virtually clicks on ads. So basically its nothing to do with FB, but one of the developers who is selling marketing data.

Does it ring true? Any of you fb spy tool developers etc. here that can confirm?

Why is anyone surprised?

The way in which facebook was founded was shady. You guys didn't think that good ol' Mark was going to change his ways once he became rich did you?

The best way to foretell future events is by looking at its foundation..

I think maybe you are right yes.. I never understood from the begining Facebook ad placement and monetization. Even when they have a good idea like paid inboxing? They charge so much that no one would do it.

Yes this makes perfect sense. But it should account for 1-2% of the clicks not 80-90%

This billionaire is a black hatter and a scammer at heart.

Sum up; A charity buys $10k worth of ads via facebook and gets 500k likes to his fan page. He posts on his wall to try to get his "targeted" fans to download a software he has developed but soon finds out a BIG chunk of the fans are from fake accounts.

My conclusion; Facebook does NOT have a revenue share program (as far as I know) like adwords/adsense, so any clicks that are made by fake accounts are not generated by publishers that want to increase their "adsense" rev...right?

So that mean's the fake accounts are made by FB and their team because they are the only ones making any money out of the clicks. They can not say someone is sitting there creating fake accounts and using those fake accounts to click on ads - what would be the purpose of that? No... the only logic is that FB is scamming.

Thoughts?

Mark is Simpling Following one rule called Fake it Til You Make it i also imagine this is one of their dirty strategies they use to come up with such Astronomical IPO Valuations worth of Billions when in actuality worth much less
