They are trying to milk their users in every way. First they limit the exposure of posts by page owners, then they come up with this stupid thing timeline that made it much harder to read profiles, they want money if you want to message someone who's not your friend, and now they want to charge almost $100 if you want to message a complete stranger, which is just insane.
I understand that they got investors to satisfy but from my point of view as a normal user, they are ruining the network.
If I express interest in a page, that I give my consent that I WANT those posts/ads/promotions/freebies/whatever to appear in my news feeds, why the hell would the page owner have to pay for that? Now I miss on a lot of stuff due to this new shitty policy.
Sometimes I may want to message people I'm not friend with, perhaps I saw an ad and would like to contact them, do I have to add everybody? I've my own privacy and wouldn't want everybody peaking at my profile.
They focused too much on the web and made several crappy versions of the android app, even the latest one crashes. I can't use the app a lot because it hangs the phone and makes it completely unusable until I remove the battery.
They endorse racism, hatred speech, nudity, discrimination, you name it, all kind of things. There are several pages up that I've reported and many have done as well and NOTHING has happened so far. Facebook owns Instagram too and many accounts contain CHILD PORNOGRAPHY and nothing is being done despite all the reports.
And this new model of charging $100 to message people outside your network is pretty retarded. I'm not going into the reasons but if it's to stop spam, they could charge just $1 or get some competent security engineers.
This sounds like a scam JV to me for whoever invested and they should be shitlisted, lol.
