Facebook Groups

You must go on your group admin page. Among tools on the left side of your screen, you must have a membership questions bar. In it you can set up questions then choose between several possible ways of answering (boxes to tick, written answers or multiple choices). When you're done just press save.

To set membership questions for a Facebook group, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Facebook group that you want to set membership questions for.
  2. Click on "More" in the menu on the left side of the group's page.
  3. Select "Edit Group Settings."
  4. Scroll down to the "Membership" section and click on "Membership Questions."
  5. Click on "Add Question" and enter your question in the text box.
  6. Select the type of answer you want members to provide (short answer, multiple choice, or checkbox).
  7. If you want the question to be required, toggle on the "Required" switch.
  8. Click "Save" to add the question to your group's membership screening process.
You can add up to three membership questions for your group. These questions will be shown to people who want to join the group and will help you screen potential members.

Go to your Facebook group and click on the top right corner, and you will find the option ‘Membership questions.’

How to ask questions to members who are waiting to join the Facebook group
1. Click the badge icon with a star on the right side of the interface.
2. Select the group settings section, then navigate to the Members section and select the Question for members waiting for approval.
3. Select the Add another question, then Enter the question text, Click Save.

Steps may vary depending on how Facebook arranges the interface. Best to try the already provided steps or for more updated steps, you can also check on Facebook's help page.

If you're a group admin, you can ask people who request to join or participate
in your group to answer up to three questions to help you decide whether or
not to approve them. In private groups, these are called membership questions.
In public groups, these are called participation questions. Questions are
limited to 200 characters.

Members can respond to only one question or all questions, responding is not mandatory.
If a new member clicks Cancel, their request to join will still go through.
If they did not answer the questions, members will receive 4 automatic notifications (after 3 hours and after 1, 2 and 3 days). Notifications will stop after 3 days.
