I'm convinced FB won't go down like Hi5 or Myspace. Why would they?

Also the money they will get from mobile advertising it will increase its money. So how would they go down?

They have like 1000.000000 millon users and they just got instagram.

Impossible they go down.

What's going to replace "social" networks? How about actual, one-on-one, social communication with real friends that you can call up and have lunch with.

The sooner all of these narcissistic social networks go away, the sooner we can go back to having a society with integrity again.

what you guys think of instameet? suppose to be social network with webcam.

if facebook is dying so there's must be something else rising! am i right? so what's the next social network?

I think Facebook will do well if you ignore the current market fall for the stock and instead focus on the fundamentals. Most people are still not sure of what drives FB and it wouldn't be a greater deal to find people buying a stock that they thought was hot and then sell it when it losses a few marks. So what are the fundamentals? FB is still the largest social site on planet eartn, and they overtook Google to position 1 according to Alexa, their ad rates are going higher by the day....just like adwords in 2005+ this tells you that its a growing company.

Additionally, most people still don't know whether FB is reliable on the long run or not and are just taking guesses.

waiting for new opportunity with programming flaws to make some few hundred $Ks...

Besides i find social media sites to all end up being a players nightmare.
The whole reason I don't even have a personal Facebook page. xD There are so many women that will just stalk the hell out of your page and bitch if even one other female likes your picture. So, I've got 99 problems and Facebook ain't one. :D

facebook might not be around in the future but social networks aren't going anywhere. forums have been around long before facebook, those are considered social networks.

facebook also comes with your shiny new cell phones, companies advertise their facebook.com/name pages on TELEVISION.. did myspace or hi5 do this?

the problem facebook is having is the same one most of us started having.. mobile traffic is taking over facebook and it's hard to convert and 99% of your scripts don't work with mobile, how are you going to monetize it besides lame passive banner ads?

Facebook Inc.'s stock took a hit Monday after an article in the financial magazine Barron's said it is "still too pricey," despite a sharp decline since its initial public offering.

Although Facebook's stock has plunged since its May IPO, Andrew Bary at Barron's said the stock trades at "high multiples of both sales and earnings, even as uncertainty about the outlook for its business grows."

At issue is the shift of Facebook's massive user base to mobile devices. The company is still figuring out how to advertise to people who use their mobile phones and tablet computers to access the social network.

Bary said success in the mobile space is "no sure thing" for the company. Mobile ads must fit into much smaller screens, which doesn't give Facebook "much room to configure ads without alienating users," Bary said.

FB do not have anyone who understands the mechanism of Wall Street - hence the stocks will continue to spiral down in value!

Had facebook stuck to its original intent, then it would have been alright. Their advertising tactics are corrupt. Their timeline feature is horrible. They should have stuck to their roots.

Exactly, as soon as they did that timeline bullshit, i knew it was a wrap for facebook
