Two questions
-
1 Why do people buy video games when they can play free on Facebook etc?
(I talk about Xbox etc.)

2 How the heck do you get a social game on Facebook?

facebook games and xbox, there really is no comparison. unless graphics and game quality are not an issue. At least with the few games i have played on facebook, but i could be wrong.
 
1. the obvious, facebook games are crap. Sorry dont mean to be snotty but they are :p
Also facebook games have no where nere the quality console games have, if they did they would be charging to play the games.

2. Im not really sure but guesing its basically just an application that some one has programmed to be a game. so basically hire a programmer to make a facebook game ;) lol
 
How do you explain those 3 big Facebook companies making loads of cash then if FB games are crap?

Have you ever played an Xbox game?
Have you ever played a Facebook game?
Notice any differences between them?

That's why.
 
again, facebook games are good for passing time. but if the quality is what you want, it may cost you a couple bucks.
 
No comparison between Xbox and Facebook Games.Just play both ..
 
Facebook games are more simple games and low quality.
Console games like Xbox. PS3 have better quality, better gameplay etc.

Just go to youtube and search xbox 360 games and you will see the difference.
 
fb api. its pretty easy to get the code u need. then just pop it on a page, and whatever is on the page counts as the app
 
Doesn't Zanga or what ever the heck their name is make like 150 million a year off those FB games? They gotta be doing something right, that's for sure.

Zynga make that money however they are funded by very rich people and have a jolly lot of staff to make that cash.

I mean what chance have we got unless we make a game like Settlers of Catan which is like you would not go to a Google mail clone.

However these companies a assholes a lot with watching how games go on FB etc. then come out with their own and crush the competition.
THats another thing I have emailed a few Iphone game studios about cost to make mine and not one of em have replied.

the difference is quite obvious for gamers...and i prefer xbox over farmville
 
yes facebook games is not way match with Xbox or PlatStation games. Just play even PS2 games you know the difference yourself. It is like same thing like free PORN sites and Paid porn sites
 
1. Game consoles graphics are real good and its the preference of many people.

2. Facebook games many people like them, but some things in the facebook games you have to pay real money for certain items.

THe video game industry KILLED the board game industry for over a decade however with the unique human interaction wit board games they are starting to come back popular.


My dream of becoming rich with my board games vanished when the vieo games industry killed.

Now I have the idea to get a publisher for making my board games into Iphone etc however researching this seems a near impossible task and you can forget me investing with a developer as I dont have the money to even buy food some weeks right now.
What an unlucky crap life some people have.
 
Unless I can play Modern Warfare 2 ONLINE with 11 other humans on facebook, your first question is pretty lame...sorry
 
Everyone is sayin xbox games rule in comparison to FB games, but as a games developer, id say FB games have somethin xbox games cudnt possibly, a mass social market, millions of players all being farm 'neighbours', sharing items, watering eachotehrs plants etc, lol

Sure xbox games are gorgeous, but at best ull prob get 8-16 players at once on the average game

Back to the OP:

People choose to pay for beauty or quality content(storylines etc)

Gettin a game up on FB is pretty easy if u know how to make a standard game and can do a bit of FBML
