Hi, I didnt know exactly where this should go, so I put it here. Well I'm in a entrepreneurs group in my school and we get to start our own business and also get investors. I'd like to create a Business that will help small businesses incorporate a Facebook Fan page into their website and marketing strategy.

I'm planning on creating Fan Pages for all the businesses and adding a like button to their website. I'd also like some good advice on how I can get more people to become fans of the businesses page.

Remember these people must be local because the business are local small businesses. So if you have some strategy's or techniques I could read about please tell me where I can read about them, or post them here.

What you said makes no sense. Plus I want to do it as white hat as possible since it will be a business. Anyone have some good advice?
 
The first part of your plan is sound. Not many businesses would know how to do that. Also, i'm sure many would not know the benefit.

The second part of your plan is where I think it starts to fall over. Making facebook fans is no easy trick.

It easy to enough to use a facebook fan service to cheaply get a 1000 or so fans, but getting targeted fans takes a lot of work and a lot of promotion. You will either need to have some large local facebook accounts, or some means of advertising locally.

This is nice idea and you need to provide some useful stuffs to the people to get rcognized
 
You could have peeps on Freelancer get the fans for you, you can get fans at a pretty low rate on there.
 
Hey man. I love your idea, I have done this for tons of companies, some really big (I did a Facebook App for Jay-Z to promote his new book) and some small local companies.

What you should offer is custom FBML design. This means you design a landing tab on their Facebook page with their logo, a big arrow pointing to the like button and a bit about the business ya know?

To get local fans like you say you want, the only option is a PPC campaign. These are easy enough to set up but you can explain this in a way to the companies in a way to make them think its difficult, allowing you to charge more for maintaining the ad and what not.

exactly you need to hire freelancers for the recruiters .... ..
 
Open a a FB a/c , add friends from the local area , ask the mto join the page , simple :)
 
I do this on a daily basis and I can tell you its NOT as easy as it sounds. Finding targeted fans for a local business and getting the page over 1-2k fans is one helluva task.

And depending on where you're located, you're going to only be able to ask between 250 and 500$ per page.

Then comes status updates. You have to educate them to use it or they feel robbed.

Bottom line, if you're going to do it, be prepared for alot of hard work. Its NOT as easy as it seems.
 
It's only hard work if you try and do everything yourself, outsource the time consuming tedious task's and get "helper's" to do the rest. Remember your in business, business is about producing if you cannot mass produce then your capping your profit potential and will get burned out from working your business instead of letting your business work for you.
 
Here I will tell you my secret because it is localized marketing and it seems you are doing what I do.

You can't get a million "organic" fans by cheating, you need to implement the tools that FB gives Marketers. Use Offline, Online, Places, & Having the staff know where to find them.

I do this for a living, a lot of businesses don't train their staff to simply tell their customers find us on facebook or join our page to receive something, but also make the fan page have an ********** lead capture system. that way you got them on facebook and get there cell, bday, etc what ever you would like to ask for...

I'd say that if you're truly going local, that you don't need as many fans as others are indicating. A few hundred Facebook fans in a smallish market for a retail business would be significant enough.

How do design custum facebook fan page? And where can I learn how to design them?
 
Good idea with friends, just going to need a lot of local targeting, assume these businesses are very local.
 
It's a very good field to opt out fan page. Many of the professionals have started utilizing it fan page creation as a big business. You need to grab expert skills,
 
try to gain fans using FB advertising method..u are able to get targeted fans from this method :)
