Facebook Event Went VIRAL! - How To Monetize It?

Hey BHW,

A few months ago my friends and I made a Facebook event that went viral at our university. Unfortunately we are not making any money from this event because it isn't ours - we actually found out that a famous DJ was playing at our school before the club who organized the event had time to make the facebook event .

In 2 days it got 1600 confirmed attendees - Now it is at 2600 after not doing anything.

I searched this entire forum but I only found posts on how to make money from a Facebook Fan Page rather than a Facebook Event. I was hoping someone would be able to offer some advice?

If something thinks they can make some $$ off this I would gladly entertain splitting the profits (although I know our numbers are not too high).

The population is: college students between the ages of 18-22 who are interested in EDM music. Btw College Students LOVE spending money =)

You can place some link in the description that leads to some offer page or something like that.
When the event users click on it and complete offer on your website you get to make some $$.

I guess it is the only direct way.

You can either spam them with a lot of cpa offers or make it your source of traffic for a good facebook app or script which you can use with a wide range of possibilities. I'd suggest you to make an app, something like "Find out who is your crush" and put ad codes in the app. You can get the code for such apps in codecanyon for a few bucks.

Find a few popular DJs
Organize an event.
Sell passes
Profit

An email list of a thousand people might help a lot with this. Try building a list this time

Dont sell them passes! Make it free to enter, but charge them to exit

This is a great idea and seems pretty simple to do. I was thinking about finding an app that has something to do with the EDM/Rave scene....then, the Ads are the easiest part and can either be selling concert tickets or accessories for a show.

What do you think the best way of promoting the app without making it look like I am hard selling them?

Another great idea. Personally I wouldn't want to execute the event since it would take up too much time, but I know people who are involved in this. So I can simply sell them the list.

Even though all the people attending the event have accepted the invitation, they still haven't opted in to be on the email list. What do you think is the best way of collecting the email list? Add a sign up form or is there a way to scrape them? Any thoughts?
