What do you think of all the changes?
Do the new profiles improve upon the previous ones, or is this just a hassle?

it looks terrible and makes the profile page look so cluttered, complete change from the 'clean' look it had previously. I wont be updating my profile.

Once again, facebook is deciding to make changes that no one wants.

The more changes that they make, the more people end up leaving facebook.

Doubtful. They know exactly what they're doing. Nobody is leaving, they are tied to the site now because all their friends are too.

Agreed, the second I see a better social network, I'm hopping on it and leaving facebook in the dust. I hate when they change perfectly good shit.

Kind of starts looking like facebook is running out of innovative ideas and starting to do changes to make themselves at least look like they are doing something.

@LiamLC + bobbylove321 - I think you guys are forgetting the most important aspect of social networks the people. It's not only about you shifting to another social network, it's about all your friends doing the same, and all their friends so on so forth.

That's where Facebook sets about its complete market dominance with over 500 million active members.

On topic, I think it looks crappy, however I'd like to think that Facebook have done sufficient amounts of research and tracking before implementing the change. I doubt at such a large userbase and market cap that they're really stupid enough to change a feature just on a simple thought.

From what I see it doesn't look like face book has actually forced people to make the change and people still have the option to keep the way their profile looks. This is at least what I can see from logging into mines. Do people think they are going to force everybody's profile to have the same ugly laylout as the one pictured above??

Once you migrate to the new profile you will see all profiles with the new layout, not just your own, regardless if they have migrated or not. If you haven't migrated to the new profile, you will see the new layout only on profiles that have migrated to it.

No way, from what I've seen. FAcebook will force you within a month, anyway.

The cartoon campaign has nothing to do with this change, it was about fighting child abuse.

I don't really like the new change at all. I think that Zuckerberg did it to piss everybody off because he was probably feeling vulnerable due to the social network movie coming out so he just wanted to send a little message of "I still own all your asses" :hurt: Maybe I read a little too much into that, Sorry....:p

I just noticed that the blurb box is also gone. Its contents, if any, is mixed with text in the About Me section.

It's kind of funny how they always said how much better they were than myspace, but with the exception of not allowing css to overwrite the profile pages, facebook keeps getting closer and closer to a myspace type look.

It's really funny that so many people left myspace for facebook because of all the commercialization and spam on myspace, but facebook has become worse than myspace ever was.

Plus privacy issues have always been a tremedously bigger problem on facebook, and are worse today than ever.

I open up My Space section, they all complaining about My Space,
I open up Facebook section, we all complaining about Facebook.

So what are we all looking for exactly? A perfect layout that meets all the criteria off 500k users? I have 22 staff under me and its hard to satisfy every each one of them, and to satisfy 500k users? Well i doubt so.... ;)
