Facebook 'Dating' - My Experience

If you wanna meet people, try okcupid. Single women there are a lot more willing to meet up than if they got some random poke from some random creep on facebook, while they're playing games or stalking other girl's profiles.

And if you post a shirtless pic showing your 6 pack as your profile pic on okcupid, you'll get flooded with responses lol. Have the words "sexy" and "guy" in your username, and you'll double the responses. I was talking to a guy on there who did that as an experiment (he had 2 profiles on okcupid).

Same info on both profiles, except different username, and one he was covered up, and one he wasn't. Makes a huge difference.

I guess this isn't a bad tactic. I've done similar things and met some girls in person. Even dated one for about a year. (Although we had about 20 mutual friends and she says she met me at a party years earlier and that's why she added me).

I think the combination of meeting in real life and then continue to facebook to know each other is the best :)

I met my current gf of almost 9 months thru Facebook, and am really happy with her. We go to same school and stuff but we met on Facebook before we even left for school.

wtf? if you add some girl you don't even know through facebook they're going to think you're a creep as a first impression unless youre a brad pitt. the last girls i'd date are the type who willingly go out with strangers who add them on facebook

not trying to bash on your method, maybe it works for you, but i certainly have doubts in this lol

This should be in the lounge!

Myspace is better for meeting women. Facebook seems to be more about creating a stronger network with people you already know. I'm going to give Facebook dating a chance.

I agree with you, this should be in the lounge. It is definitely an interesting topic/method, and although people could turn this into a money-making method, there are not specific instructions on how to do so. However, this is up to the moderators, not me.

Lol oh the days when a simple code inseration alllowed for massive message spam on myspace.

Me and friends used to throw parties based entirerly on this method.

Great Great Great times.

Some of us like the filthy whores. if your looking for a wife ur insane if ur looking on facebook

What I do is poke X amount of people per day who I like the look of and who live nearish to me - if the Mutual Friend is local there's a higher chance the other person will be.

I bet you've poked a couple moms in the process that you're not telling us about, and I don't mean the facebook poke, i mean the post fb poke poke.

Haha ive had friends who have met girls on fb/myspace and the girls have turned out to be proper physcos. I met a girl on a night out whom I had on myspace but her friend liked me more so she backed off, then the one who liked me more added me on myspace, i didnt like her, she was a phsyco, she ended up cutting her wrists because i wouldnt get with her etc.

My advice, stay away from online dating! I met my girlfriend, whom ive been wiith for 3 years, whom was a friend of a friend of a friend, i hit her in the arse with some beads, then gave them to her...3 years later... lol, follow my method :P

No offense, but maybe you should just go out and meet some women IRL instead :)
Why? Before the social networking sites came along the biggest way to meet people was either through work or going out to bars. Everyone has large networks of people to meet through when they're in school, but as you get older those go away.

The social networking sites have brought that same kind of networking potential that people have in highschool or college, and bring the same opportunity back to older people.

The only problem that people have with meeting people online is that they carry it on too far online. So here are the rules people should use if they want to use online activities to meet people irl.
  • First - selectively search for people that are in your own local area.
  • Second - Anything you see in their profiles, or what they tell you online should be considered nothing more than the equivalent of catching someones attention across the room at a bar. Untill you meet irl, you truly know nothing about them.
  • Third - Don't spend a lot of time vesting into an online friendship. The idea of getting to know them a little online first is pointless. It's too easy to present your best face online. Even in a chat there is time to read what your saying and rewrite it to seem better before hitting the send button.
  • Fourth - Meet as soon as possible, and do it in a public place. No matter how well you think you might know this person, this face to face meeting is truly when you are meeting them.
From that point on it is no different than having met someone at a party, picnic, bar, or church. Use the same common sense that you would normally use in those situations and start learning a little about who they really are.

A few years ago when it first started I didn't have anything to do with MySpace. I knew what it was because I'd seen my friends kids using it, but I mistakingly thought of it as something for the kids. About a year later a woman I had started dating asked me to make a MySpace profile so she could send me messages on it. I was amazed to find out what social networking was really like. I ride Harley's and there are a lot of older people with similar interests as me that originally set up profiles to stay in contact with their kids, but soon found how easy it was to keep in touch with other friends and meet new people as well.

I didn't date that woman for long, but when I started looking for other women to date I started finding many new friends on MySpace. It got to the point that if someone invited me on a ride some weekend and I wasn't seeing anyone, I could find a date to go with me on MySpace. My friends were amazed because all of the sudden I had new women around every week.

Like I said if your stupid about it, and try getting to know someone online and develop feelings for them then you'll almost certainly get burned. As long as you understand that all your getting is a social networking opportunity and treat it the same as meeting any other stranger, then meeting people online is a really great benefit to living in the modern world.

Generally, I think communicating with women works. Period. In the end, you have to have something they want, need or something in which they can confide. Trust and great communication is key. keep reading.

It's easy to hide behind facebook and flirt with the opposite sex.. Sure it's great warm up conversation, but when you meet people offline for the first time and you come from a social platform, don't be surprised that you'll need extra energy and time for the offline warm-up conversation.. To be honest, I think you'd get a better conversion rate (frequency at which you befriend women) by driving down the interstate or freeway, looking for chicks who need assistance changing their tires; and getting out and really helping someone who appreciates it, with a charismatic smile and with all the tools you need to pursue.. You can't do that on facebook; and let's not forget.. First impressions are everything. Remember this fun fact:

On average, most humans spend less than 10 seconds observing a human before deciding whether there's a possibility for romance. This is true.

If you're serious about meeting someone you can relate to, don't waste your time with myspace. There's no point in pursuing teenagers with fucked up haircuts and personality disorders. Find a real woman.

Go to the grocery store and look on aisle #13 next to the bread. People LOVE to talk at stores; and most women love to shop or DO shop for their family.. if you want a classy bitch, go to the whole foods or your local expensive-as-hell organic food supply store. Talk to them in the store. If that ain't workin' out, offer to help load their groceries into their vehicle; things like that.. It's easier to stay in the store though.. You don't wanna loiter around the lot; would be creepy.. Enjoy money online; but for Fuck's sake, enjoy women offline.

A personal note-- Online dating is good.. I encourage it; but don't underestimate yourself man.. Survival of the fittest, natural selection, sex, fight or flight, pheromones, hormones, procreation.. These things will and have co-existed together peacefully for ages. Don't make it harder than it needs to be.
:reddy:

Wow, this has quickly and fully blossomed into a quick guide to online dating...all here on BHW (in the FB section). :lmao:

No this is purely for meeting women not making money. Yeah it's all manual - for now. Any thoughts on making it a bit more automated?

:lmao:

You know you're on a black hat forum when people start trying to figure out how to black hat picking up chicks. LOL

I'm curious, how old are you?

I think this thread is turning down a pretty sad road. I do not say this because I am against online dating, more so because it has blown up into a full-fledged "how-to" guide on picking up chicks on the internet...on BHW...in the FB section. :lmao:

I agree. Take it to the lounge.
