I wonder if they could do the same for their own bots that provide fake hits to advertisers. Remove those too!!!

Interesting... this happened today? I checked my fan page and still had over 1mil fans... I don't notice a drop at all, though mine should all be organic and none of them should be fake. Anyone else lose fans on their page?

I imagine that some bulk Likes could escape the removal if they were crafted with enough finesse. For example, if Facebook is detecting "bulk" Likes by all coming from the same subnet, and a provider is really awesome at spreading IPs around, then it wouldn't matter.

Who knows how Facebook is detecting, but hopefully some "reports of damage" will start coming in, and we can piece together how this works.

They will have a specific path to removing fake fans, once people understand the route it will be easy to beat again. Just unfortunate to those who have alreadu purchased fake fans.

I guess this does not effect like exchange sites cause they works based on manual likes not by bots.

This is exactly the same thing as with G, they mean to target the bulk and obviously fake ones as they don't yet have the means to detect the more 'real' likes (or may not want to because the cure may effect normal operations too much). It may also be a corporate stunt and not effect more then a few %.

I know you probably can't get too specific, totally respect that.

But can you describe in general the source of your Likes? (For example- "a single bulk Like supplier from Fiverr" vs "from an unknown variety of Likers on a Like exchange site")
