Facebook charged me 13$ but I spent only 3$

Hello guys,

I am running some fb ads and in one of my accounts they charged me 13$ when I just started the day and only spent about 3$ for engagement, which were not even supposed to be charged until I reach 7$ spent

I use a virtual card

In my payment history instead of fb.me/ads it shows FACEBK ADS Menlo Park.
From what I read online, it seems that this is some sort of fraud because the card got leaked.

If anyone had a similiar experience I would really appreaciate.

Maybe I did not explain it correctly

basically:

- I turned on the ad
- Ad spent since ad was turned on was 3$
- They charged me 2 hours after ad was turned on in 2 different payments one of 5$ and another payment for 7$, 6 seconds later. So 2 payments in the space of 6 seconds from FACEBK ADS Menlo Park.
- In total today I paid 16-17$ for 3 hours that the ad was on while my ad spend limit per 1 day is 20$
- All previous payments from previous days were done without any issues.

Can you please explain what do you mean by post-payment, why did they charge me so much
 
seems to be a question for FB support team. likely you are missing some information in the fine print.
 
fb is afraid that u dont give him money, so they will charge more than u really cost.
 
That's the amount of money Facebook temporarily confiscated from you, they will soon refund that amount, rest assured

It's possible but the issue is I don't see in my fb ads account these transactions, they only show up on my credit card transactions history. And they've done it again to a different card but this time it shows as META ADS instead of Menlo park, and again it does not show in my fb transactions

Bro that is called Hold. When you added the credit card in facebook, it seems you approved the hold and did not even noticed that. When fb is holding money from your card, it won't appear in transaction section in billing section. You will get all holded amounts in few business days. This is how it works nowadays so don't worry, you will get ur money back.

I am positive I did not approve any hold, if that is true that the money is on hold, I would like to know why they made 2 holds with 6 seconds difference in between them.
I added a different card and ran the ads on that one and I got another hold for 7$ but this one seems to be okay as it says METAPAY*ADS fb.me/ads CAUS and haven't charged anything after that besides the ad spent, from what I read online regarding FACEBK ADS Menlo Park it's a fraud case, but I guess we will wait and see.

So this one is the transaction for Hold - METAPAY*ADS fb.me/ads
You have two options now, to contact Fb support or to wait few days. Better contact fb if you have the option available in your Ads Manager. Buna ziua :)
 
It is the Hold from Facebook, usually they will refund to you after a week or so.

I think you should double check all transactions on your payment card. Check the transactions that match the advertising account, see if they have this message ''FACEBK ADS Menlo Park''?

And check the transactions that do not match the advertising account to see what they contain. If the two contents are different, your payment card may have been leaked.

Or maybe because your advertising account is required by Facebook to hold a certain amount.
