Facebook bots or virus?

Twice in recent weeks I've had facebook friends tag my wall with a spam message that goes to a PPA lead-generating site for cell phone services. I just got one from someone who knows nothing about bots or internet marketing--so how did that spread from his account? A virus?

I assume those are usually done with something like facebot, right?

If that happened then I'll bet they got a spoof email and they entered their username and password into a site that looked like FB.

Since alot of you ask for it
there is one thing you should know.
Facebook have the limits and by that i mean that you can only request 50 a day to add
you as there friend and only send 50 messages a day to your friends or people who are not
your friends.
I know that now after 5 accounts of mine were deleted each with more then 650 friends.
so be ware.
