After sending the request, within 1 minute i got notification that my request has been declined. So there are certain criteria fed into the system to allow or disallow the requests. Looks like an automatic process.

i think it depends on your page follower i saw some below 500k got denied and 500k above Accepted and me myself has 1.1m followers

Could be because of:
"We don't support verification requests for user profiles and Pages that represent businesses/brands."
If your page or profile looks like a brand, it surely won't get verified. Might have to change profile a bit and then change back to what it was.

I applied and got rejected they said grow more engagement what is the minimum for getting approved

It never got down
Mostly it was unavailable (the link) cause you had a spammy/new profile
But anyway just cause the link is available doesnt mean your page/s will get verified
If you actually dont have what they ask you will never get verified those that claim they do either they are scammers or they can but its a short term blue badge
PS: dont bother with thr verification
Unless your pages name is Vin Diesel and by blue vetifying it you rank top on search results there is no benefit
The so called benefits are mostly myths
Verified pages do get penalised too
Verified pages dont have any more reach/engagment percentage than a non verified
They do however have some small features they they get a few months earlier than normal pages but nothing unique!!

No. . . Verified pages with Blue checkmark is a huge difference. I have 1 verified page and the rest normal and I never get penalized for links or reach on the verified page, never gets taken down, spam, nothing. Other pages get low reach, 0 reach, pages vanish etc.

I applied for my personal profile with no business links. I am a normal FB user with 4950 legit friends added over a course of about 2 years. I don't share much content though.
The reply i got is below:

So i think this is where i missed out. But i have been told i can reapply within 30 days...Now i will post quality content for around next 25 days which can get lots of likes and share.
