Hey guys just wondering if this has happened to any of youse and if youse know who to contact for help.

Basically we had a competition going on facebook in which peopel had to share a link to a site on thier status update. A day later facebook has ghosted every update which has contained the link (really not sure why) but would you guys know who to contact and if we could get all those updates "unghosted" somehow/someway.

Keen to hear if anyone else had encountered a similar issue with fb.

They'll do that. Can you use a link shortener?

no man i havent used one, How can i use one?

Bit.ly is a popular one. Make your links bit.ly links. Then you can track them better.

Hi there, yeah that is exactly what facebook has done, Is there anyway to rectify this? reason being the link is to promote for a charity to help people living with a disability. We are unable to get the url changed but its a bandcamp page.

Cheers Kethy!

What fb thinks about your url:
Code:
http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

I don't think shorteners work. Go ahead, go to your favorite porn site, take the url, put it in a link shortener, and try to post it to facebook... see what happens? You can't post it.

I don't know if they take all blacklisted links that seriously, but they are certainly capable of blocking it even with a url shortener.

redirects in a shortener do work tho, bitly > some redirect js on a redirect.html page u own > real site. fb will scan bitly for the real contents, and see your redirecthtml and thats it...

ive had the same tho... sucks.. but normal, very effective too, sadly :p :(
