Facebook android app and shared link thumbnails

I noticed a decent drop in traffic for the past few weeks. Turns out, the android app has been badly cropping link thumbnails, shared before and after one of the previous app updates. Not all thumbnail images were affected, but quite a few for me were.

I found this:

and a few others to confirm it's not just an issue on my end.

Images appear normal on desktop, mobile, and the iOS app. Traffic is too, only significant drop coming from android.

Nobody else noticed this?

Still hasn't been fixed.

Traffic has steadily declined in the past two weeks. ~65% of traffic from the android app is now down to ~45%.

This doesn't affect ads or links shared to pages until someone shares that content, in which case it would show the cropped small thumbnail.

And another issue is going on right now is Instant articles. It has loading issues on iOS only which of course the traffic has been declined significantly. Fb sucks donkey deek.

Since most people actually use the app compared to desktop and web version, you would think they would fix these things pretty quick.

The "new" UI also changed back to the old "blue" one for me.
 
Weeks later and still not fixed. CTR is pretty bad thanks to this. Just goes to show how important link thumbnails actually are.
