Facebook Algorithm Has anyone else noticed changes in the Facebook algorithm lately

Some pages seem to get massive reach even with smaller follower counts, while larger pages sometimes struggle to reach their own audience. I’m trying to understand what signals Facebook currently prioritizes — engagement rate, watch time, or posting frequency?
I think it depends on the quality of the content.

yes it depends on qualty plus facebook and instagram push content from fresh account.

Facebook now prioritizes the quality of interaction over the number of followers:
- Watch time (most important) – the longer viewers are kept, the higher the reach
- Engagement rate – comments and shares are more valuable than likes
- Content relevance – content that matches viewers' interests

I think it depends on the quality of the content.
1. Watch time / retention → If people keep watching (or rewatch), Facebook pushes it more

2. Meaningful engagement → Comments, shares, conversations > likes

3. Relevance → How likely this specific user is to care

4. Relationship → Past interaction with your page

5. Posting frequency → Helps, but only if content is strong

Maybe they are just shuffling to encourage random pages just like how 10-15 years old videos are showing up in feed on youtube.

Yes. Once and a while Facebook just pushes a storm of promoted posts in my timeline. Most of them are unrelated to my algorithm or tastes

Right now on Facebook, it’s less about follower count and more about content performance signals.
From what most people see, priority is roughly:
Watch time & retention (biggest factor, especially for Reels)
Engagement rate (comments, shares > likes)
Early performance (first 30–60 minutes)
• Consistency (but not as important as quality)

Facebook's distribution algorithm has been updated, making it more difficult to know exactly how content is being distributed.

From what I've seen, basically facebook rewards the groups and/or pages with user engagement. Therefore the best metric the facebook's algo evaluates your content is through engagement rate.

So you're saying we need to combine all three of these elements?

I always tell my clients that Meta currently places a strong emphasis on clean, outstanding, and creative content campaigns. Such campaigns are usually approved quickly by Meta and trend rapidly. Therefore, I always urge my clients to focus on the content of the campaigns they want to advertise.

recently, facebook prioritizes watch time and retention rates of users. So the important is you need to focus on making good content, then even small pages still get a bigger reach.

yah meta algorithm AI automation these days really prior real engagement, not only followers anm. So new strategy is build real and consistent content to go longterm

Facebook's algorithm has changed. Now, interaction plays a huge role in page growth.

yeah follower count is basically meaningless now tbh.
the 2026 ai just pushes content to non-followers based on deep engagement signals like private shares in messenger and high watch time on reels.
a tiny page with a highly shared video will easily out-reach a massive page that only gets passive likes.

They prioritize eye-catching and trending content, regardless of the number of page followers.
