How much is it to get advertising on the Facebook homepage when you log-in or when you sign in as a pop-up?

Anyone know the costs?

Dunno about this kind of ads, but IMO facebook ads doesn't tend to be cost-effective, especially comparing to adwords. Maybe its because people are not search oriented over FB

Not worth paying for it, people report fraudlent clicks advertising with Facebook.

Even though you are telling the truth but you are telling this to promote your own business :P.....Anyways good luck with your sales.

Facebook doesnt do popups - you're probably seeing those as a result of some adware toolbar installed (in which case PPV traffic is cheap!). For straight up FB advertising you pay by CPM (cost per thousand impressions) and mine generally hover around $1cpm depending on targeting.

The key to a successful facebook campaign is super tight targeting and a great image/headline to get a high CTR.

it's worth to using fb ads .. you just need to learn and learn more about fb ads ..
