Hi

got a call from a directory company saying that they can target keywords with Facebook

so user searches google for a certain thing that you are selling, you create an add based on them keywords and when they come back to Facebook your ad shows as they were searching for that in google

targeting your audience etc

can this be done

I use facebook ads, and currently I am only able to target via coutry, age, sex, interestes and some other options. Not keyword!

That is called custom pixel, not hard to do, as you can upload your pixels in fb PE or in developer section.

What this sounds like is re targeting. I've seen this done on Facebook. Take a look at double click, Google bought it just for this technology.

Yes it can definitely be done, haven't you ever notices that after you search for stuff on google if you go to amazon they show you those exact products? it's the same thing.

Many big companies steal(user permit them to do so by accepting their tos or policy without reading) user data on a big level using algorithm they create for this work,It is also the most basic and powerful function of google ads,Not sure a small company can do this.
