Facebook ads?

Facebook ads have the ability to target certain niches which is nice but in my experience the click through rate on facebook is far less than google and opt in even less. Why? Facebooks user profile is generally younger, more tech savy and more wary of the kinds of things people like us are trying to do. Can money be made? As the second most popular site in the world of course, just plan on banging your head against the wall at start up. My .02.
