I would like to know your advice on buying facebook ads. Is it worth it? Ive read in some posts that its extraordinary expensive and maybe not worth it. I created a facebook page (can only be targeted to german people).

Would like to hear some comments on facebook ads in general.

Nobody can answer that for you.
If you don't know what you are doing, then yes, it will probably be expensive.
People are making $1000's from FB ads but if you don't know your market, then you will probably lose money.

I think people have mislead you...it is still worth it and there are many case studies for you to follow not only on this forum but also other sites

follow this guy and i BET you wont be disappointed

Any traffic source has potential so long as you take the time to learn it.

Facebook ads may work for someone else but that doesn't mean it should work for you.

But to answer your question, yes. Facebook is a good traffic source for selling services/products.

Facebook is the virtual place you can see huge crowd,

Before setting up your ad do the following:

1. Research whom are you going to target *(locally or regional or country)
2. Age group of people
3. Most relevant substitute things or people likes
4. Relevant pics, attractive images, catchy words

Make up allthese things and revise it 5 to 6 time at 1day interval (because you are beginner)

Sure success will follow

I would say it definitely worth . First of all it's legal, don't break fb TOS. And can be very useful if u use it wisely

Facebook ads are good, the problem is know and get your target as sayed by W130SN
In marketing all is good and profitable if you know how to make it profitable.

They're very profitable for me, its all about how you do it. I bet many people lose money with FB, also there are a lot of people who have great results with them. It's just a "tool", it's about how you use it.
Think like your customer, why would you need that specific product/service? What messages would convince you to take a look, read more about it? Would you buy it?

Its Just whom you are targeting and what are you trying to sell them
For that only many say to use laser targeted leads to bring enough traffic and conversions..

Hey guys - probably a very dumb question...
If your strategy is to run facebook ads - does it really help/matter if you already have large fb pages or groups?

No, I have large pages and they're completely useless to me, I only rely on ads now.

Thanks for all your comments. Much appreciated. Guess I will give it a try AFTER I have completely analyzed my target audience. Thanks again.

Ads are worth it.

Try for an audience size of 1-2 million.

Interest Based.

Cheapest form of engagement is mobile (only) if you want to increase likes, etc...

I did facebook ads but not for the visits but for brand promotion and it was very cheap.
You have to make sure you double check every field you fill in there as by default they optimise your compain for the number of clicks so you'll spend a lot there, so make sure you set everything to your requirement.

It really depends on what it is for and what ROI you can get.

I have helped with clients who spend $100+/day on facebook, and earn around $2k per day from them.

I have also done ones for people, where they spend $1000/day, and end up hardly breaking even.

You can usually tell if they will work or not by the description.

1) Is it local, is it an event? - These ads usually work well on facebook.
2) Is it international, and a niche product? - These usually do well too.

3) Is it international, and very broad product? - I have never had success with these, as the conversions are very low.
4) Is it a local business? - These sometimes work, but its usually hard to track if the facebook ads really bring in the leads.

Some more information about my fb-page:
- Content is for age: 13-20
- Mostly consists of youtube links/videos (some are uploaded by my self and some are not)
- Having around 1200 page likes so far but very little user interaction
- All content including videos is in german

My idea is to insert links where possible to amazon products (germany)

But again to earn money I just need more page likes

After Facebook ads were released, Facebook destroyed organic reach. Basically if you have a commercial page, they limit your reach to oblivion.

Same thing Google does on organic search: if they detect commercial content on your site, they make your life miserable so you have to buy ads.

I, personally, think your targeted age group is perfect for facebook... but you have to remember that your potential visitors have to have buying power otherwise they will just use your website/page for window shopping.

Do you want to use facebook ads for your page (as in getting likes) or do you wana use it to promote your aff/product?

If you wana use it to get likes for your page then don't waste your money . Its not worth it at all. But if you promote a product (e.g. from amazon) then its worth as long as you target your audience by using their facebook emails.

Thanks for making that clear. Actually at the moment I just need page likes.
