Hey guys been on here for quite some time and working on my first serious project aka my own business!, and was looking into Facebook ads finally, been using BlackHat methods of marketing to grow for a while, now trying to expand my reach and grow more, how could I go about doing my research to refine my target audience down to a tee, I have some ideas in mind but want to get as much info as possible, are there any specific tools I should use? going to be running my ad's on Instagram, currently installing FB pixel on my site as well before running my ad's.

Thread moved.

What's your 'biz'?
I use Jarvee for social media.

I'd probably ask you a few questions I ask most of the beginners I chat with:

-- do you know who your perfect avatar is?
-- do you know if the service/product you're selling is in need or want?
-- what price points are you using?
-- do you have an SLO (Self Liquidating Offer)?

the list goes on and on. When it comes to the ads marketing, take a review at the recent Policys/Procedures that Facebook releases. Tends to change weekly lol

There is Tailwind, TASSI, Apphi and more for scheduling posting and the like. The best learning method is to seek counsel from those that are where you want to be.

I realize this may be commonplace (still new in the community), but it doesn't hurt to mention it again...unless I'm breaking the rules without fully knowing lol

1-- Yep know exactly who my target market is etc
2-- Service is in need and wanted as well as a growing niche
3-- They slightly vary but I offer packages which may range from 25-60 with certain custom orders being more, but thats more for returning customers looking for something more.
4-- Not currently, was looking into click funnels but planning on making tutorials/courses that I can give as a freebie that I can then follow up with using the funnel, going to try and collect and email list via the funnel to retarget ads with.

Already using hootsuite to schedule posts, not new to social media at all

do not forget to use the split test feature if you are a beginner. Tweak your creatives and do some research on competitors.

The best thing to do is take all of your past customer's email addresses create a CSV file upload it to Facebook Custom audiences and create a Look a Like audience.
The truth is Facebook has changed so much in the past couple years and you really don't have to be very targeted in order to start seeing good results as long as you are willing to let your ads optimize for a couple of days. Facebook will take the data from the people who are actually responding to your ads and try to find more similar people. if you can upload an email list of your past customers and create a Lookalike audience that would be your best option in my opinion. I run extremely broad targeting I target entire countries and only narrow down by age/gender and Facebook finds me buyers easier because I am not limiting them to a small audience to work within. As you get more data built up on your pixel your ads will get more and more accurate it just takes a little time, but don't give up. Also be sure to be very creative and eye-catching with your ads they need to have a clear call to action and adding some bonuses like ebooks, free design templates etc will go along ways it getting people to take action faster.

Keep us updated! Good luck!

Only got a couple E-Mails atm but have been collecting them, a lot of my sales are from returning customers as I provide graphic design services to a specific niche plan on expanding outwards after dominating this niche, thank you very much for the insight! Currently working on a free course but a template is a very good idea as well, hadn't even crossed my mind, I plan on putting a lot of work into the Ad as well as coming up with different variations, gonna survey some friends and family as to which they would click on first. If you want often updates you can follow my thread over in the IM Journeys section!!
