Hi,

In Germany (DACH) market we are running clothes & accessories ecommerce projects and we are interested to try FB Ads.

I have seven question for all Facebook experts:

1. Is it big importance to target interests on campaigns for my audience?

2. How many interests you using per campaign?

3. Tell me about your interests strategies for campaign audience.

Example - If I'm selling jeans should I use other jeans brands on interests. Is it right way?

4. What ad placements should I use for testing? maybe its better to use only Facebook Feed?

5. How much time you waiting to see campaign result and than stopping campaign and making changes?

6. As beginner for testing should I use Traffic Ads or Conversion Ads?

7. Does FB strict on domains? if I'm using two FB accounts should I take different domains for same landing page?

Thank you!

Stick to the basics in times of cookie restrictions and Facebook ads, because it's generally much harder to make easy profits with them.

Basic you have to cover
  1. One Pixel for whole page
If you use 2 FB Business Accounts, make sure to use 1 Pixel for Tracking for both
  2. Make sure to have Conversion API Working
  3. Ads targeting:
If you don't have pixel data yet, focus on 1-3 keywords in your industry and spend at least 120€ on conversion ads to get some data.
If you already have pixel data, focus on a broad audience (conversion ad) and retargeting (catalog sales).
  4. Test, test test! Find out which ads work for you: Carousel, Video or Single Image by having 3 of them in one ad set. Make sure you give them all a minimum budget so FB doesn't spend all the money on one visual.
And just to be clear: Facebook knows better than you where and who to target. I've spent over 100,000 € in the DACH region alone, and I've always found that it's the content that counts, not the campaign settings. Facebook is clearly less profitable so almost all people nowadays use fb ads to target new customers with 1:1 acquisition cost and use mail/SMS marketing to have high customer lifetime value so they are profitable in the long run.

Thank you for information!

Definitely will set up Pixel and Tracking and will start testing.

Few questions:

1. Many people saying that for FB everything is blackhat. In our case we are selling clothes & accessories and using one-page landing. Should I use cloacker for this niche? I believe its totally white-hat.

2. To spend at least 120 Eur I should set minimum daily budget for campaign and start spending slowly for longer period, correct? 3/5 days?

My personal opinion you can refer to
1. important .. if it's a big budget it won't really matter

2. your preferences should depend on the target group with which we are using each group has a reach of 3 million people - 5 million people

3. You should divide evenly into groups and test spending 1-2 days with that group

5. you should test 2-3 days and spend at least 200$ on it

6. best conversion

7 . they are so ridiculous you should use a clean ip and verify your identity before advertising

1. Definetely, if you dont then you reach audience might be lower than zero
2. I use lots of them, as much as I can select, the most you can cover/reach the better.
3. everything related to your product/service, fashion, photography, other brands, type of jeans other things that go with jeans as well , like types of jackets, shoes.. I mean remember that when people is searching for clothes or shoes that can also be a trigger for jeans since its related to fashion.
4. I normally use the recommended from facebook
5. check the engagement, leave it for 3 days if you dont see any results (new leads, no incoming messages, change it, paused it, change the lookalike audience, etc)
6. conversions are better in my opinion but it all depends on what you are trying to do, so that one is up to you.
7. I would like to get more details about this one, I did not understand what you mean with this.

Thanks for clear and helpful information!

7. Lets say I have sucessful campaign and want to scale it. Is it safe to run 2 -3 FB accounts with same ads content and images, is there is any risk that FB can catch for that and block all accounts at once? even its white hat.

If you know the product and the market well, then you have solved most of the above questions

1. You need to test. If FB blocks, you will have to use a cloacker. Yes, these are the realities of FB.

2. It is better to start with smaller budgets, so FB will better optimize traffic. FB reasoned like this: I need to spend 120 Euros per day as efficiently as possible. Or if you put in for example 20 euros a day, then he will reason that he needs to spend 20 euros a day as efficiently as possible. As you can imagine, with a smaller budget, FB algorithms have more time to deliver your ads to the right audience.
