Does anyone know a free or reasonably priced tool to do facebook ads research on a niche? Or even better: does anyone have a technique for researching competition in facebook ads for a particular keyword? Havent touched facebook in awhile, so don't know best/most recent approach to this.

YEAAAAAH... find your competitors fan page on FB and scroll down the page to find the “Page transparency” section. Facebook shows quite a lot of information about the business owner to let you better understand the purpose of the page.
Then click on ads from this page and then go to ad library.
If they running ads on FB, you can spy on them there..
