Facebook Ads - Need Help

I'm a little confused on what type of ads are safe for facebook. I previously had a website and facebook and I ran an add promoting a contest that I was holding etc etc.
Not only did the add not get approved - I was banned from running any further ads (wow!). I guess it was stated that my ad was over the alloted about of text.

So I am working on my new website and facebook and I want to run an ad. I am confused on how I am suppose to run an ad, get my point across without using text.

I'd love to know what anyone else is doing or any success with fb ads.

Facebook's ad algorithm for what is considered "safe" to run on facebook is based on WOT (Web of Trust) if your website is showing "green" under the WOT rating you should be ok to run on Facebook as far as ad copy goes I would recommend not using "click baiting" terms such as "click here" etc etc.

So are you saying your ad was not approved because it had too much text? Too much text where? In the actual ad or was the photo included in the ad text itself? I'm a little confused...

@Fizzle; If you promote an image/post with an image and the image contains more than 20% of the image space with text it well get disapproved. Although, in my experience your ad will usually get approved, run for a few hours and then switch to disapproved.
