Hi,
I am looking at using Facebook ads for a company profile, from what I read it seems that if you use and ad that links to an external site rather than a facebook page you still get likes on your facebook profile when someone clicks the ad. Is that correct?

lol - Obviously I wasnt clear. My understanding is if you use facebook adverts you get likes to a fanpage when someone clicks the ad. If the advert links to a website do you still get likes when someone clicks the ad

No you dont get a like on your facebook fan page, if you link the ad to your website...

In my experience as a Social Media Marketer in makes more sense to take the users straight to your Facebook page and claim the Like there, it gives you the opportunity to bring them to your website time and again where as by taking them directly to your website you pay the price for such a gamble and ultimately put your eggs in one basket.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I will set up a dedicated landing page on Facebook, I was kind of thinking it is best to not take users off their beloved Facebook
